4 Solo businesses to make $100k

Anyone can start these

Anyone can build a 6 Figure solo business.

The internet has made it 10x easier to get started.

But, if you aren’t sure which one to start

In today’s issue,

I’ll share 4 solo business you can start that can make $100,000 and more.

You can build these while working a full-time job, or as are a student.

(I started #1 while being student and 18 months later made my first $100k)

Let’s get into it ↓

1. Build a service business (digitally)

A service business is the easiest to set up and you can start earning an income from day 1.

All you need is a skill (that solves a problem or delivers value) and a payment method to get paid.

Some example of skills that can turn into a lucrative digital service business:

Copywriting, graphic design, online fitness instructor, accounting, finance, law and more.

Here’s roadmap to get started:

  • Step 1: Pick a skill you know or learn one.

  • Step 2: Create content about it online (I recommend Twitter or LinkedIn).

  • Step 3: Reach out to people and offer to help for free.

  • Step 4: Deliver results and turn them into case studies.

  • Step 5: Reach out to more people, share your previous work and the results you have delivered.

  • Step 6: Start charging.

Here are some resources to get started:

  • For website use → Carrd

  • For payment use → Stripe

  • For client acquisition use → Twitter and LinkedIn

2. Build and sell digital courses

Do you have some valuable knowledge that can help others, but you don’t like teaching in a group?

You can share your knowledge with thousands of people without spending hours teaching each person.

Simply create recorded modules for all the key components and package it as a digital course.

How to get started:

  • Step 1: Identify what unique insight you have.

  • Step 2: Break it into modules and organize them to teach others.

  • Step 3: Record or write the course content.

  • Step 4: Publish it.

  • Step 5: Create content about it and drive traffic to the course site.

Resources to get started:

  • For course site use → Gumroad

  • For course creation use → Notion

3. Start a newsletter

Are you someone who wants to make content, but being on camera isn’t your thing?

(that’s me btw)

A newsletter is one of best ways to create content as an introvert and share your knowledgeable insights.

It’s one of the best way to build an audience in my opinion.

Two ways to get started:

  1. Organic: Create content on Twitter + LinkedIn and share bite sized content of your newsletter. Then, drive people to the newsletter to view the full content.

  2. Paid: Create lead magnets and run ads to acquire subscribers.

Combine both and you have robust growth system for your newsletter.

4. Start a paid community

Think of it as an online social club, people pay you to connect with like minded individuals.

Building a paid community is the hardest one among the 4 solo businesses but it is also the most powerful one.

Here’s an article about building communities:
