Today, Im going to talk about one of the biggest problem people face when starting an online business.

Picking a Niche vs Creating a Niche

Majority of the people end up in the first group “picking a niche”

Which is why they get trapped into what I call the Niche Bubble.

They jump from one niche to another hoping to catch the hot trend.

That is why they never make any progress.

I know this, because I have been there.

Until, I realized my approach was completely wrong.

Because what I should have focused on was - Creating my niche.

Picking a niche makes you a commodity.
Creating a niche makes you a monopoly.

Social media is flooded with consultants, coaches, creators, and freelancers.

And most of them are going after the same target market:

Executives, Founders, E-commerce, Local businesses, 9-5ers, etc.

Which is why the biggest challenge they face is:

• Staying motivated

• Differentiating themselves from the competition

• Competing on pricing

• Struggling to stand out in crowded markets

That’s also the reason why they all look the same, sound the same, and act just like the competition.

This is the bubble most people are stuck in online.

Here’s how you can get out of it:

Create your own niche.
Build a monopoly.

When you pick a niche, you become just another player in an existing market.

But when you create your own niche, you become a monopoly.

By creating your own niche, you create a small subset of bigger market.

And in that market you are the only player.

Which means:

• You have no competition.

• You have the pricing power.

• You don’t have to do anything to stand out.

To create your niche, you have to lean into what you are naturally good at or something you are deeply curious about.

Ask yourself:
“What is something Im really good at, something that comes to me naturally, something that doesn’t feel like work to me when Im doing it?”

Your Unique Knowledge

Unique knowledge is the knowledge you acquire on your unique journey, something that other people want, but can’t figure out.

This is a concept I learned from Naval:

Your Unique knowledge is what makes you stand out.

There are thousands of other business creators on social media.

But no one was..

A professional athlete, who turned into a corporate professional, failed for 3 years at building online businesses and then finally figured out his way to build a 6-figure solo business online.

My unique journey over the last 5 years is what makes me standout. 

Throughout my journey there are things I learned that are unique, because of my unique experiences.

And the unique experiences helped me develop my unique knowledge.

And just like me you have your own journey, your unique experiences, your unique interests.

Your unique knowledge is the combination of your knowledge, skills, and interests.

Here’s a framework I developed that helped me identify my unique knowledge and create my own unique niche.

PSID Framework for Niche Creation

Problems: The challenging problems you were facing 3-5 years ago. 

Skills: The skillset you used to solved the problems.

Interests: Your interest and curiosities.

Dream Outcome: The results you help others achieve or the problem you solve.

This is the exact framework I used to develop my unique niche and over 120 students have used it as well inside Solo Business Blueprint.

To sum it all up

Don’t pick a niche. Create one.

Develop Unique Knowledge, create a unique niche and become a monopoly.
